Coffee and cigarettes

What is it about coffee and cigarettes?  Why are they such a wonderful combo.  I mean most people who smoke and drink coffee will tell you that there is nothing better then the two.  Except for maybe drinking and cigarettes.  So the question is this; Why?  Why do we choose to do stuff that we know will kill us.  Why is it that human nature always wants to do what is harmful for us.
If you asked the common person if sex before marriage was fine they would say sure.  I mean you don't buy a 250,000 car and say i'll take it without a test drive.  (or do you)  So knowing this, most people who are quote on quote christians have had sex before marriage.  Does this make them evil?  Or just human.  So why is it that we all want to do what is bad for us.  You have to ask yourself is it because we are all ****ed Up, or are we all just fooling ourselves and think we are doing something bad.  What is good and what is evil.  Who knows the answer...

you know, my X used to always smoke and drink coffee first thing in the morning. I dont' know why he likes it so much, but it bugs the crap out of me. It drives me nuts that his first savory thing to do in the morning is smoke and coffee. I don't know why people choose to do things that are harmful. he calls it an addiction, but I honestly believe that if you truly want to quit, you will have the will power to do so. Especially if you're an extremist like he is. By the way, I was in this meeting where these christians mentioned that nothing in the bible said it's bad to have pre-marital sex. If you want to turn this discussion into a spiritual matter, the simple answer would be the good and evil battling within us. Or, you can say that since god made us in his image, we're only doing what he intended for us to do. This "bad" stuff was only interpreted as "bad" by men, who believe they are godly.. by the same men, who kill in the name of God.

Smoking is one of those things that is hard to do. You shouldn't get down on him because he wants to do that; its an addiction. Its not an excuse. It just hard to do something when your dependent on something physically and mentally. It would be the equivalent of a girl who loves sweets to give them up for the rest of her life. Is that really that easy. Put on top the fact that its also physical and its pretty hard.

I'm sure he would have loved to spend time with you in bed, but when one is addicted to something people wil do crazy things.
